LANGUAGE LEVELS: A1 – Beginner I know a few basics in the present tense but can’t yet hold a conversation. I can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very simple phrases. A1+ – Advanced Beginner I can ask and answer simple questions in the present tense, introduce myself, describe things, and interact in a simple way if the other person speaks slowly and clearly. A2 – Upper Beginner I can handle short, routine conversations on familiar topics (work, family, shopping, local geography). I can describe my background, environment, and basic needs in simple terms. A2+ – Low Intermediate I can take part in simple conversations on everyday topics without much strain, narrate events in the past, and express simple opinions or plans for the future. B1 – Intermediate I can handle everyday conversations on familiar topics, describe experiences, express opinions, and give reasons or explanations for my ideas or plans. B2 – Upper Intermediate I can interact with fluency and spontaneity on a wide range of topics, understand the main ideas of complex text, and express myself clearly and in detail.
